The 2022 Workshop and PRS Annual Meeting was held September 8-9 in Austin, TX at the Sonesta Bee Cave Hotel.
The PRS Workshop uses immersive, active-writing, and active-oral presentation design, with one-on-one feedback from NIH-funded faculty-mentors drawn from the PRS membership. During the two-day Workshop, young investigator participants compose a clear grant proposal that tells a logical, cohesive story and makes concise statements of scientific premise, significance, innovation, and impact. Young Investigators also learn clear writing and oral communications skills.
The Workshop is funded by awards from Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and Reckitt/Mead Johnson Nutrition. Successful applicants attend the two-day Workshop and the two-day PRS Annual Meeting, directly following the Workshop.
A long-term goal of the Society is to encourage young investigators to consider applying for new membership in PRS.
We welcome applications from senior post-doctoral or clinical fellows or junior faculty (up to five years as Assistant Professor) engaged in perinatal research. Successful candidates will demonstrate scholarly achievements appropriate for career stage, have identified upcoming grant opportunities that they will pursue, and be prepared to work on their proposal at the Workshop. Nominees are expected to attend both the Workshop and the PRS Annual Meeting, which directly follows the Workshop.
If selected for an award, the Society will arrange and cover the registration costs for both the Workshop and the Main Meeting, including hotel rooms for four nights and all meals. . The applicant and their institution are responsible for all travel to and from the venue.
Late applications will not be accepted.
Previous participants cannot apply.
